Dear
friends,
Greetings
from Chad! I can't believe it's been a week already since
I arrived. Lots has been happening. Ive been staying
at the SIL centre in Ndjamena and getting to know others
who live or work here and doing some orientation in health
and hygiene matters and such like. Folks have all been very
welcoming and friendly which has been a great help in getting
used to the feel of things here. Ive also had a trip
to the market to buy some Chadian clothes, which was an
experience and have had various visits as well.
Tomorrow,
Im going with a German family and 3 other people out
to the Guera, to Mongo, the town I will be living in to
meet more colleagues out there and to have a look at some
housing possibilities. The house we are planning to rent
is bare so we need to organise getting furniture and making
it a home. Im looking forward to this but with no
IKEA or B&Q round the corner its going to be more
of a challenge!
Then
in two weeks time, we come back to NDJ for a 2 week branch
conference and for me more orientation, but this time with
more newcomers as well.
My SIL
email is up and running now and thanks for the emails so
far!
Ive
also bought a SIM card here and my number is 235 76 49 90
so do send the odd text message too.
Prayer
