Following the Wild Goose: Stilling and Prayer

In the Celtic tradition the Goose is considered as a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

We wanted to acknowledge that the cornerstone of our relationship with Jesus is finding that still place in our hearts, and know that He is God, and to develop our prayer life from there.  We therefore set out to learn, share and practice our stilling experiences over a period of a few weeks.

Sunday 29^th April was 3rd gathering and marked the end of this exploration together.

What a wonderful way to start your Babies / Tots Routine for the day.
Doors open each Wednesday, 9:30am till 11:30am.

Come play with toys, borrow toys, meet fellow Moms, Dads, Babies and Tots and the wider Community and do spread the word!

This Sunday (4th March) we have two student gatherings!

The student boys are invited to spend an evening with Colin Hewitt and Malcolm Calvert at their house. For more information speak to Malcolm or Henry (hevans91@hotmail.co.uk). 7.15pm for a 7.30 start.

Student girls will be meeting in the King’s Hall from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

We would like to extend our invitation to ladies who have graduated in the last few years as well.

We will be looking at living under God’s influence and will focus in on a couple of woman in the bible. For more information email Sarah (sarah.young@cce.uk.net).

Stillness invariably helps us discern the Holy Spirit and is foundational to our prayer life.   

This block involves a bit of instruction, practice and sharing. It begins on Sunday 4th March, after our church gathering (with some soup) for the initial group gathering, where some of the instruction bit will happen (come along then simply to find out more!). Then we meet again as a group on the 25th of March and 29th April. In-between those times is for the practice bit, which you do on your own, and the sharing bit comes with meeting others during the week to chat about how the practice is going. You can come to share either Mondays at 6pm, with Andrew, Tuesdays 1pm with John and another time yet to be confirmed with Naomi Howard.

   Monthly Prayer Meetings

This Sunday 6.30pm-7.30pm Open Worship – Small Hall. 

This Sunday evening, in place of our usual student gathering, we are going to have a time of open worship and prayer. It is a space to come and worship, dwell in the presence of the Holy Spirit, encourage one another, hear from God and pray.

It will be shorter than our normal Sunday night meetings so please make sure you are there on time so that you don’t miss out.
