Edinburgh the city

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, a beautiful city, it is bustling with life, art, music and theatre. It also has an amazing history, stunning architecture both old and new and some captivating scenery.
Edinburgh Castle, one of the country’s most famous landmarks, protectively looks over the city from its rocky perch. Below are Princes Street Gardens, blooming with daffodils in spring, prettily lit up at Christmas; the gloriously gothic Scott Monument disdainfully counters the chain stores; spires point into the sunset at the west end of Princes Street like an Istanbul cityscape; acropolis-adorned Calton Hill is at the east end; North Bridge spans the two towns; and beyond is the sublime sight of extinct volcano Arthur’s Seat rising from the midst of the city, snow-dusted or shrouded in swirling mist.
