David
and Maggie Hewitt
David started out as an architect, graduating in 1980,
but has been on staff now for many years. He and Maggie
have two children. David has built up strong links with
several churches in East Africa and began the Africa
Fund in 2001. As one of the 'elders' he, teaches at
Sunday meetings, co-ordinates cell-groups, is involved
in pastoral care and has a passion for the prophetic.
Maggie
is passionate about dance and co-ordinates the church's
dance worship. Together they have had a vision for setting
up a House of Prayer in Edinburgh: in 2006 the Lord
led them to sell their home and buy a former church
building in Newcraighall. This has been named Wellsprings.

Colin
and Ann Symes
Colin, who currently leads the team bringing oversight
to CCE, has been involved in leadership in Edinburgh
since the eighties, having studied theology at New College,
after that working for eleven years in government service.
He has been on staff since 1985, and is involved in
the teaching, worship and outreach areas of Community
Church Edinburgh, particularly leading the team which
runs Alpha twice a year. He is a member of the regional
Edinburgh Alpha advisers team, and also one of
the core team of Network Churches Scotland, a partnership
of churches which resources and encourages mainly community
churches across the nation. His love of languages has
opened doors of relationship into nations in Europe,
including France, Poland and Slovakia, where, in the
case of Central Europe, his activity is mostly among
Roman Catholic lay communities involved in mission.
Ann works in the administration of CCE, and also oversees
with Colin the worship teams, as well as being involved
in the pastoral area. They have three children. More
info can be found on Colins
website.

Rupert
Ward
Rupert has lived in Edinburgh since coming to the city
to study in 1989 first Maths, but finally Theology
(an inspired decision!). On graduating, he started working
for the church, firstly as a student worker, but pretty
quickly his remit expanded to a wider leadership role.
His passion is to help people grow and develop (wherever
they are on their spiritual and life journey), as they
see Jesus more clearly and walk towards Him. He does a
number of things in the church, including preaching, meeting
people, spiritual direction and pastoral work, facilitate
the Leadership Team meetings, and oversight of the finances.
He has recently entered the blogosphere, and you can read
some of his random wonderings, on his blog.
He
is married to Pippa and they have two wonderful and
energetic young boys, Toby and Caspar. Rupert loves
curries, drinking wine, reading and learning, sport
of most varieties (less playing and more watching these
days), and politics & currents affairs (he would
love to be in the Questiontime audience and ask a question
actually he would love to be on the panel!!)
