OASIS![]()
A service of the West End churches of Edinburgh into the business community. OASIS offers a supportive Christian presence to any and all in the offices in and around the Exchange, the new financial district. Acivites range from visits to businesses and one-to-one conversations, to talks by professionals on topics of interest in the world of work.
Fusion
A group of people who are working together to help catalyse and resource a radical movement for Christ amongst students and within their culture. They are an organisation that works in partnership with local churches, resourcing and enabling both the Church and its students to see the Kingdom of God break out in student culture. Fusion primarily operates through cell groups.
The River Fellowship 
A Catholic lay community dedicated to mission in Slovakia that has grown up around the ancient Redemptorist Monastery in Podolinec, Slovakia. Many members of Community Church have had the privilege of travelling to Slovakia nd sharing the lives of the members of the community, mutually encourageing and teaching one another across denominational and cultural boundaries.
The Africa Fund
An initiative set up to support people we know and visit regularly in Africa. There is no organisational link to the projects involved, which are entirely planned and run by people in Africa. However, we will only support projects where we have a relational link with the individuals involved, and an ongoing accountability as to the use of resources.
The fund has been set up David Hewitt, a leader in Community Church. He originally trained as an architect and worked in Tanzania for a year in the late 1970s. He now makes regular visits to Kenya and Uganda, to further the links that have developed with a number of churches and organisations.
Edinburgh Prayer
An inter-denominational network of people who pray for the city of Edinburgh. The prayers are for protection, justice, blessing and ultimately for the advancing of God’s Kingdom into all sectors of the city.
Movement in Worship 
Several members of Community Church Edinburgh are linked with Movement in Worship, a dance movement based in Southampton in England around Andy Au, the inspirational Christian dancer. Movement in Worship (Scotland) is run by Maggie Hewitt and Rachel Whitby.
Northumbria Community![]()
The ecumenical community that emerged from a rediscovery of Monastic and celtic christian values back in the 70’s, now based on Holy Island and at Hetton Hall near Wooler. Responsible for the Celtic Book of Daily Prayer. A cell of the community, led by Colin Symes, meets monthly at Community Church.
Newington Churches Together
An ecumenical grouping of churches in the Newington area of which Community Church is a part.
