Ashleigh is part of the Community of Leaders, and brings her expertise in all things leadership and organisational development in helping facilitate meetings and process change within CCE.  She is also involved in the finance team, prayer and speaking on a Sunday, from time to time, with a passion for God’s word.  Here she is in her own words:

I’ve been part of CCE since returning to Edinburgh in 2000.  I first came to Edinburgh, from my home in Bangor, N Ireland, to study at Edinburgh Uni.  Following that, my job in NHS management took me through many twists and turns across the UK.  I left health a few years ago, and found myself in the banking sector, the day before global financial meltdown – a divine appointment!  My area of expertise is ‘organisational development’.

The hallmark of my working life has been about establishing righteousness and justice in the workplace – and it’s taken me some time to figure that out!  Each day, I am grateful to God for all that He is to me.  Yet I also see, daily, the pain in people’s lives caused by the unjust acts, poor decision-making and suspect motivations of others.  May God’s Kingdom come more and more to our places of work.

I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember.  My roots are Baptist, but over the years I’ve moved more into wanting to see the fullness of God’s gifts expressed in our lives and worship. I have a heart to pray and long to see more of God’s transformation of our lives through prophesy and healing.  I’ve been involved in many ways over the years in CCE – I’m a member of the Finance Group, teach occasionally, and provide support on a number of fronts.  I used to lead a cell group and now I’m part of the Upper Room Group (Donaldsons / Halls).

Outside work, I’m joining the Board of Christian charity which runs a hospital in Israel.  Back in Edinburgh, it feels like I run a B&B here, given the number of friends and family who enjoy coming here for a few days.  I live on my own, so it’s nice to have company from time to time.
