Colin Symes
Colin is one the leadership staff, with responsibility for mission, leading the Community of Leaders, and our overseas mission work. He is also heavily involved in our local area, including the Southside Community Association, and the Scottish Network Churches Core Team. He is one of the main preachers you will hear on a Sunday, as well as him occasionally leading worship. He writes:
A Londoner by birth, I came to study at New College in 1975 and stayed on, working in the government’s benefits admin until going full-time with the church from 1989. I married Ann in 1983, and we have three grown-up kids; Ben (married to Jules), Becky and Abby, all of whom you’ll run into around CCE. I have a passion for Jesus and His story, (= History) as well as loving languages and communicating with folks from different cultures and traditions; I also love to dig beyond the English versions into the original texts of Scripture.
