Liz Murphy
Liz is currently on sabbatical from the Community of Leaders, having just got married in the Autumn of 2011, to Drew. She was the student worker at CCE from 2009-2011, at which point she has returned back to study.
Having come to Edinburgh from London in 2005 to study Geography, CCE soon became my home church and I’ve never looked back. During my years as an undergrad I became increasingly involved in the community here and kept discovering more of God’s heart for the city. Towards the end of my degree I took on more responsibility within the student ministry and after graduation, was employed as CCE’s student worker for two years. Alongside this, I had been exploring what it meant for God’s kingdom to come in the more deprived areas of Edinburgh and how we should respond as church. Through prayer walking and volunteering, I decided to embark on a masters in social work in order to be salt, light and hope in some of the hardest to reach places. I am currently on the lookout for ways in which others can do the same. In terms of family, I married the handsome Drew Murphy in September 2011!
