Spirituality and Prayer
A series of evenings on helping each other to pray –
to live with God.
Prayer is itself a journey of discovery,
an experience unique to each one of us,
a personal relationship
with the God beyond our understanding
and the God who dwells in the core of our being.*
Evening 1 – “Living from the Centre”
Finding Stillness in Mind and Body.
Monday October 12th.
Evening 2 – “In the Midst of Life”
Praying in Whirlpools and Rapids: Spirituality in times of change, uncertainty and transition.
Monday November 9th.
Evening 3 – “Rhythm and Liturgy”
The Shapes we pray with: What generates a rhythm which consistently open us up to God?
Wednesday December 9th.
Evening 4 – “Recovering the Imagination”
Contemplation: Discovering God through and beyond words.
Monday January 11th.
Evening 5 – “Loving Attentiveness”
Meditation: Allowing and receiving the Word of God as it makes his home in us.
Monday February 8th.
Evening 6 – “Personality and Prayer”
Jesus doesn’t just meet us where we are, but with who we are.
Monday March 8th^
An evening will consist of some teaching, time to practice suggested prayer forms and space for personal and group reflection on the practice. Spiritual exercises and resources will be offered each evening for ongoing use – the actual practice of prayer outwith these evenings is understood to be our primary learning context.
Each evening will start at 7.45pm and end at 9.30pm in the King’s Hall.
