Finances

What we do - finances

We believe that all good things come from God and it is He who gives us the ability to earn money. All that we have belongs to Him. The Old Testament presents tithing, the giving of 10% of one’s income, as a norm. The New Testament talks more about giving generously although Jesus does mention tithing. We would ask everyone in the church to consider what they should give, but we suggest that giving 10% of our income is a good benchmark.

It is the generous giving of finance by church members which enables us to finance all the ministries and activities of the church.

Donations can be made via the offering bowl on a Sunday, by standing order or sending a check to the church office. If you would like a ’standing order’ form, please click here for a downloadable version.  We can recover tax from the government via the Gift Aid scheme. For more information click here.

Sometimes at a Sunday meeting we have special offerings where all the money given that day goes directly as a gift to a specific project or perhaps a visiting speaker.

Community Church endeavours to handle its finances with integrity and openness. Our accounts are professionally audited annually, and they are open to scrutiny by anyone wishing to see them. We aim to be good stewards of the money God gives us, providing resources both locally and across the world.  If you have any questions about the church finances or would like to talk to someone about giving, please contact the office or speak to one of the leaders.
