Glass Doors

In our building, the King’s Hall, we have glass doors, which are a modern addition to an old, imposing stone building. As we have thought about becoming a “church without walls”, a Christian community that engages with our wider community to be a blessing to them, these glass door became a symbol to us of this desire.
Opening glass doors. It spoke to us of people being able to see into our community of faith while not themselves yet in the faith community. A transparency. A vulnerability. But also doors open. A welcome. No coercion. But an invitation to join us in our adventure of following Jesus together.
We added another image too. Not content with inviting people into our faith community, we want to build bridges out. So often the church has isolated herself from the communities we have been to sent to serve. We take inspiration from Jesus who came and lived among the people He was reaching out to, and so we are looking for ways to engage with our wider communities.
